For each topic,
- find evidence from the text and note where it appears in the novel (which chapter)
- pick out quotations to explode/analyse
- try to learn some of these quotations
- Consider how it links to the context or to Golding’s purpose
- Prepare a thesis statement
You could make a mind map for each topic and tick each time you look back at this. Don’t just reread the mind map every time; try to recreate it from memory or explode the quotations again.
Try to include some timed essay writing in your revision. You can make questions using this format: How does Golding explore [theme]/present [character] in the novel?
