Edexcel Romeo and Juliet Revision Topics

For each topic,

• find evidence from the text and note where it appears in the play (act,scene)
• pick out quotations to explode/analyse
• try to learn some of these quotations
• Consider how it links to the context or to Shakespeare’s purpose

You could make a mind map for each topic and tick each time you look back at this mind map. Don’t just reread the mind map every time; try to recreate it from memory or explode the quotations again.

Try to include some timed essay writing in your revision. You can invent questions like this:

1. Explore how Shakespeare presents … in this extract (choose any significant extract – these are probably the ones you spent most time on in class)
2. Explain the importance of … elsewhere in the play.
